Progressive Polytypism and Bandgap Tuning in Azetidinium Lead Halide Perovskites

چکیده
Mixed halide azetidinium lead perovskites AzPbBr3-xXx (X = Cl or I) were obtained by mechanosynthesis. With varying composition from Cl- to Br- I-, the chloride and bromide analogues both form in hexagonal 6H polytype while iodide adopts 9R polytype. An intermediate 4H is observed for mixed Br/I compositions. Overall, structure progresses perovskite with composition. Rietveld refinement of powder X-ray diffraction patterns revealed a linear variation unit cell volume as function average radius anion, which not only within solid solution each (according Vegard's law) but also extends uniformly across all three polytypes. This correlated progressive (linear) tuning bandgap 3.43 2.00 eV. Regardless halide, family polytypes are highly stable, no discernible change properties over more than 6 months under ambient conditions.

Origin of unusual bandgap shift and dual emission in organic-inorganic lead halide perovskites
Emission characteristics of metal halide perovskites play a key role in the current widespread investigations into their potential uses in optoelectronics and photonics. However, a fundamental understanding of the molecular origin of the unusual blueshift of the bandgap and dual emission in perovskites is still lacking. In this direction, we investigated the extraordinary photoluminescence beha...
متن کاملLarge polarons in lead halide perovskites
Lead halide perovskites show marked defect tolerance responsible for their excellent optoelectronic properties. These properties might be explained by the formation of large polarons, but how they are formed and whether organic cations are essential remain open questions. We provide a direct time domain view of large polaron formation in single-crystal lead bromide perovskites CH3NH3PbBr3 and C...
متن کاملGiant photostriction in organic-inorganic lead halide perovskites.
Among the many materials investigated for next-generation photovoltaic cells, organic-inorganic lead halide perovskites have demonstrated great potential thanks to their high power conversion efficiency and solution processability. Within a short period of about 5 years, the efficiency of solar cells based on these materials has increased dramatically from 3.8 to over 20%. Despite the tremendou...
متن کاملExcitons versus free charges in organo-lead tri-halide perovskites.
Excitonic solar cells, within which bound electron-hole pairs have a central role in energy harvesting, have represented a hot field of research over the last two decades due to the compelling prospect of low-cost solar energy. However, in such cells, exciton dissociation and charge collection occur with significant losses in energy, essentially due to poor charge screening. Organic-inorganic p...
متن کاملExperimental and theoretical optical properties of methylammonium lead halide perovskites.
The optical constants of methylammonium lead halide single crystals CH3NH3PbX3 (X = I, Br, Cl) are interpreted with high level ab initio calculations using the relativistic quasiparticle self-consistent GW approximation (QSGW). Good agreement between the optical constants derived from QSGW and those obtained from spectroscopic ellipsometry enables the assignment of the spectral features to thei...
